Yang-En University is located north of the renowned historical and cultural city of Quanzhou - the starting point of the ancient maritime ¡°Silk Route¡± to Europe in the 1800¡¯s. Yang-En University (YEU) was established in 1987 by Mr. Wu Qingxing, a patriotic Chinese entrepreneur from Burma, whose parents came from Quanzhou, and is run by the Yang-En Foundation. As China¡¯s first private university, YEU was certified by the State Educational Commission as a general institute of higher learning for full-time education authorized to grant academic degrees. YEU is now has over 14,000 students enrolled.
The modern campus and facilities cover an area of over 2,000 mu (133 hectares) of land with buildings of over 520,000 square meters; its sports fields cover over 200,000 square meters including three standard sports grounds with three 400-meter- plastic and polyester tracks, and three standard football grounds; in addition, there are more than one hundred basketball courts and over twenty courts for volleyball, badminton and tennis.
All the classrooms in the University have multimedia facilities for teaching and instruction. The University also has an advanced network center, a computer center, and multimedia language teaching labs, multimedia lecture rooms with multifunction systems, computer laboratories and analogue practice bases. The University's library meets the needs of both teaching and research requirements. There are also other facilities for sports, cultural and recreational activities, board and lodging, and medical services, etc.
These conditions and the environment, together with established school rules and regulations emphasizing the importance of good training, make Yang-En University an ideal place for acquiring knowledge and developing the students¡¯ professional skills and character. YEU puts emphasis on English, Computer Science and Major Specializations. English lectures in all subjects account for up to 50 per cent of the total lectures. Experts and professors from a wide range of specialties are invited from the U.S.A., Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Foreign teachers with good academic credentials and degrees, or other special qualifications, play an important role in the University.
Yang-En University is seeking native English-speaking teachers to fill several anticipated vacancies for the next Academic Year from February 5, 2009 to July 5; 2009.YEU is a well-established university with over 14,000 students, situated between a lake and mountains in a pollution-free area of south-east China in a sub-tropical zone. 3. ORAL ENGLISH (ESL - English as a Second Language)
Communication in English (Listening, Speaking, Comprehension) for English Major or other major students (Video course in the video lab).
Class instruction requires an interactive, rather than purely a lecture, approach. Teachers are required to submit at the start of each semester a teaching plan and schedule for each of their classes. Teachers for the same subject(s) are required to work as a team for common a syllabus and exams to ensure consistent standards. YEU is a modern campus with technical teaching aids. Modern English textbooks and necessary facilities are provided.
4. ORAL ENGLISH (Middle School)

Qualifications
1. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY
i) MBA, PhD or equivalent advanced degrees preferred and business experience with at least one year's teaching experience (or equivalent).

i) A Bachelor's degree in English or related subject, preferably a M.A. in a relevant degree, a TESOL, TEFL or ESL certificate and at least one year's teaching experience.

The teaching load is 12 hours/week for the Business Administration and English Major faculties (other than oral English), and 16 hours/week for the Oral English classes. Teaching is from Monday-Friday. Each class has two periods of 45 minutes each with a 10-minute break. Class size is up to ~50 students.
1. Tax-free salary for the 5-month contract ranges from 22,500-30,000 RMB, paid monthly from February 30 to June 30 in 5 equal monthly installments.
The salary level is dependent on the candidate's qualifications and teaching experience. Any overtime is paid monthly as incurred.
2. Airfare allowance of US$650 per academic semester (US$375 from South East Asia) will be paid at the successful completion of the 5-month contract.

5. Rent-free modern air-conditioned 1-bedroom apartment (2-bedroom for a family) furnished with color TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, window screens, telephone, kitchen and bathroom with basic furniture.

7. Transportation to YEU from Xiamen International Airport upon commencement of contract and return at the end of contract.
