China Centre for International Educational Exchange - Shanghai Branch -- Wednesday, 30 July 2008, at 7:30 a.m.

The Shanghai Branch of China Center for International Educational Exchange and Shanghai BSK Academy have a few full-time ESL teaching positions open for the coming school year commencing September 2008. The teachers will be teaching at local public schools in Shanghai. Teaching load: 26 periods or more (35 - 45minutes per period) per week. The students are between 7 and 15 years of age. No office hours are required. BSK provides teaching materials.

Requirements:
1. Native-English speakers without strong regional accent;
2. Bachelor’s Degree (at minimum);
3. In good health;
4. No criminal records;
5. Outgoing, having a passion for helping young students to learn and grow, and the ability to adapt to a different social and cultural environment;
6. TEFL or TESOL Certificates or some teaching experience will be an asset.

Remuneration:
1. Monthly salary: 11,000 or more (the actual value of the Chinese currency is much higher in terms of purchasing power than the exchange rate) before tax depending on the teaching loads.
2. Reimbursement for the major travel expense (economy class from your CURRENT residence to Shanghai).
3. Monthly commute allowance while working: usually 150RMB/month.
4. Pre-job training before the official contract starts. Basic food, accommodation and transportation in Shanghai during the training period.
5. Comprehensive medical and accidental insurance while the teacher works in Shanghai.
6. Paid statutory holidays in China.
7. Performance-based bonus at the end of each semester (Up to 3000RMB, depending on the attendance and the final assessment of teaching).
8. A severance bonus upon successful completion of one school year contract (1000RMB).
9. Free Chinese classes weekly.
10. Arrangements of parties, get-togethers and tours to downtown and outskirts of Shanghai.

Shengda Economics Trade and Management College of Zhengzhou University is looking for full-time English Teachers for the 2008-2009 academic school year.

Shengda College is located 45 minutes south of Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province. Henan is traditionally considered to be the cradle of Chinese civilization and offers an affordable cost of living and an authentic Chinese experience.

Ontario High School/Ontario Curriculum Teachers For High School in China

Chatham College School is recruiting 5 high school teachers for our sister high school in Nan Jing, China. Our coed high school of 1700 students in China offers an Ontario high school program to some of their students. Our teachers should be able to teach a number of Ontario high school subjects. This is not an ESL job, it is an accredited Ontario school program and teachers are expected to maintain the standard of the Ontario curriculum. Teachers teach in the English Language and perform all the duties that Ontario teachers are required to do, i.e. course development, unit planning, lesson planning, evaluation, assessment, etc. Teachers are not requiresd to have an OTC or be memgbers of OCT, but they do require a university degree.
NOTES
Nanjing is a big city of about 7 million about an hour west of Shanghai. It is very cosmoplitan and bustling. There is great culture, sights and is the gateway to the China's interior.
Teachers are paid the equivalent of $1700.00 CDN per month in Chinese Currency. This may not seem like much compared to Public school teachers in Ontario, but is a large amount of money in China. The average salary in china is about $100-200 CDN month in China, and public school teachers earn about $120 CDN month. For example a large dinner for two would cost the equvalent of $3-5 CDN. Your salary will go a long way. Most teachers can easily save 80-90% of their wages and live very well on the remainder. We provide furnished apartment, round trip airfare, medical insurance and visa costs. Your only expenses are meals, shopping, apartment utilites. China is a booming economy and their are great opportunites and possibilities for the adventurous.
A head teacher is required and will be paid an additional amount.
